China will not open it’s land border until June 2022 over the concern of the spread of coronavirus. The decision was made in a cabinet meeting.
The likelihood of changing this decision is very low. It depends on overall situation.
They decided this mainly to keep the new coronavirus variants out of the country. For example, the Delta and the Delta plus variant. Another reason for China to keep its land border closed is a calendar of sensitive events during the timeline.
It’s not just China, many countries have raised their guard against the highly transmissible Delta and the deadly Delta plus variant.
China have brought corona transmission under control at home. Most of their new cases are imported cases. So, they’re trying to make sure that Coronavirus does not enter their country from outside.
Coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, China in 2019 and since then has spread worldwide and the total death toll have already crossed 4 million.
